Euro Millions lotto rules

EuroMillions Lotto is the biggest transnational European Lottery presently offered in these ten countries: England, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.

When you are using our service to purchase your EuroMillions Lotto tickets for you, you will be playing the EuroMillions Lotto in Spain.

EuroMillions Lotto draws are held every Tuesday and Friday at 2:45 PM ET in Paris France (8:45 p.m. local time). You can play EuroMillions Lotto online through our web site until 10 am ET the day of the draw. This gives us sufficient time to purchase your EuroMillionst Lotto tickets prior to the drawing and confirm the purchase of your tickets. You have the option of selecting your own lucky EuroMillions Lotto numbers or the "QuickPick" option. Here the Spanish Lottery's computer picks the numbers for you. You are the sole owner of each ticket we have purchased at a state licensed Lotto retailer on your behalf.

Ticket sales for the EuroMillions Lotto began on February 7, 2004. The first drawing occurred on Friday, February 13, 2004.

For each EuroMillions Lotto ticket you pick 5 numbers between 1 and 50 plus two additional number between 1 and 11, called the "Stars". This creates overall odds of 1 in 13 for winning a prizes. That's right, one in 13 tickets wins a cash prize. Players can win prizes in thirteen categories. The odds of winning the EuroMillions jackpot are approximately 1 in 116.5 million.

The minimum EuroMillions jackpot starts at approx. $16 million (15 million Euro). This is a tax free one time lump sum cash payment. This equals a US annualized jackpot of about $35 million. Every draw without a jackpot winner increases the jackpot by at least $8 million.

Under the current rules of the game the jackpot prize is capped at €190 million. This converts to about US$220 million! And remember this is a cash prize paid in one lump sum.

If the jackpot limit is reached and the first prize is not won within the next two draws, the $220 million EuroMillions jackpot prize is distributed amongst the winners at the next level. This is known as jackpot prize roll down.

Winning EuroMillions tickets are valid for 180 days. All wins must be collected in the country the ticket was purchased. plays the EuroMillions Lottery in Spain. Please see the "Game Help" on how to claim winning tickets.

You win the EuroMillions Lotto jackpot by matching 5 numbers from the pool of 50 numbers plus the two "Stars" from 1 to 11. There is a total of thirteen ways to win cash prizes in the EuroMillions Lotto. The table below lists all prize categories and odds. Since all prizes are parimutuel the cash amount depends on the total amount wagered and the number of winners in each category. Prize amounts shown are only an example.
